Freshman Football: Carson 28, Douglas 7
The Carson Senator Freshman Football Team closed out a great season on a beautiful fall day in Minden, Nevada with 28 to 7 victory over their arch rival Douglas Tigers.
The first half was scoreless slugfest until with under 30 seconds to play the Senators drew first blood with a 25 yard pass from Drake Hardcastle to Bradley Pastro. Hardcastle added the PAT and the Senators led 7-0 at the intermission.
The third quarter the Senator defense took scoring matters into their own hands with two fumble returns for touchdowns. First it was Julian Tibbetts rumbling in from 20 yards to put the Senators up 2 scores. The next series JT Heaton scooped and scored with a 55 yard yard return to paydirt.
In the final frame the Senator offense put together a nice long scoring drive capped off by Angelo Macias scampering in from 10 yards out. Hardcastle added his 4th PAT and the senators led 28-0 with 4 minutes play. Douglas avoided the shutout with late score and the Senators went home with a 28-7 victory. The Carson Freshman finished the season with 5 wins and 3 loss.
