RSVP's food and clothing distribution event for veterans happening Saturday in Carson City
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Inc., also known as RSVP, is distributing the collected food, toiletries and clothing items on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the RSVP Office located on 2621 Northgate Lane, Suite 6, Carson City.
RSVP invites all local veterans to stop by on Sept. 11th, the National Day of Service and Remembrance, and collect items they may need. Through the great efforts of this community, RSVP has collected a large donation of items such as winter coats, hats, new shirts and socks, food and toiletries.
Nevada Health Centers will also be outside the RSVP office on September 11th providing free flu and covid-19 vaccinations. “RSVP is honored to serve our local veterans by making vaccinations easily accessible and also providing them with food and clothes for this upcoming winter,” said Molly Walt, CEO.
September 11th of 2021 is not only the National Day of Service and Remembrance, but it also marks the 20th anniversary of 9/11. The national nonprofit, 9/11, Day has asked people across the nation to do an act of service on or around the date September 11th in remembrance and tribute to this day. For more information about how you can do good this 9/11 day visit AmeriCorps’s or 9/11 Day website.
