Jess Walter, Aimee Nezhukumatathil and Michael Martone Among Authors Featured at the 2022 Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl

September 10, 2022 - 11:00am On Saturday, September 10, 2022, Nevada Humanities will host the Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl — the premier literary event in northern Nevada — at venues throughout the California Avenue corridor in Reno beginning at 11 am with the keynote address at the Nevada Museum of Art and concluding at 8 pm.
This year’s event also features The Prologue Launch Party, an evening of prose and poetry on September 9 at 6 pm, in partnership with The Holland Project, 140 Vesta Street in Reno.
What: Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl explores different genres of literature through panel discussions, readings, interactive workshops, book signings, poetry readings, kids’ activities, art installations, live performances, and food. Access to all events and venues is free and open to the public, and all ages are welcome. A full program of participants, activities, and venues is available at nevadahumanities.org/literarycrawl.
Who: Over 80 artists, authors, scholars, and poets will participate at Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl events. Author and poet Aimee Nezhukumatathil will deliver the Keynote Address to kick off the Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl. Other featured authors and poets include: Ari Banias, Michael P. Branch, Heather Lang-Cassera, Maxe Crandall, Eunkang Koh, Shaun Griffin, Naseem Jamnia, Joanne Mallari, Michael Martone, Lydia Huerta Moreno, Axie Oh, Gailmarie Pahmeier, Jared Stanley, and Jess Walter.
When: Saturday, September 10, 2022. 11 am to 8 pm PDT.

Keynote Address by author and poet Aimee Nezhukumatathil, who will discuss her acclaimed book, World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, and Other Astonishments. Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl events at venues throughout the California Avenue corridor in Reno and at the Downtown Reno Library. In between readings dance performances, interactive art projects, Reno Brew Bikes, Pineapple Pedicabs, and other activities will happen along the streets.
Event guide books will be available to download in advance of the Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl at nevadahumanities.org/literarycrawl, and printed copies will be available at Sundance Books and Music a few days before the Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl begins. They will also be available at each venue.

Epilogue After Party. Poetry readings and a musical performance by Charity Kiss. Food will be available for purchase from food trucks at Sundance Books and Music, 121 California Avenue in Reno.
