Sierra School of Performing Arts Announces: The Addams Family
Sierra School of Performing Art (SSPA) is thrilled to present “THE ADDAMS FAMILY” this August at the Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater, a wonderful venue to watch live theater under the stars on a warm summer night.
Based on the bizarre and beloved characters created by Charles Addams, this original story finds the famously macabre Addams Family put to the test when outsiders come to dinner, hurling Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Fester, Grandmama and Lurch headlong into a night that will change the family forever.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a comical feast, features an original story: Wednesday Addams falling in love with a sweet and respectable young man. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother.
Now, Gomez Addams must keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
Director Deb Leamy has recruited a phenomenal creative team: Vocal Director Cindy Sabatini, who will prepare the performers to belt out these iconic songs; Branden McKinnon, music director, conducts the live show orchestra; and Amanda Flocchini choreographs, as she has done for many previous SSPA shows.
In addition to a beautiful night of theater under the stars, food trucks will be available for most summer performances. For complete details, performance schedules and available menu offerings, visit AddamsFamilyReno.com.
