Jakota Wass concert, local mystery author continue in July at Dangberg Historic Park
A concert by Jakota Wass and a presentation by local mystery author Robert Max are featured mid-July, during the Dangberg Summer Festival.
On Thursday, July 18, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Jakota Wass, Carson Valley musician, makes his Dangberg Historic Park debut bringing his own brand of country western music.
Thursday evening concert ticket prices are $20 for 17 years and older. Youth 16 years and younger are free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased at the event. Members of Friends of Dangberg Home Ranch will receive discount pricing and should contact the park for more information. The gate opens at 5:30 pm.
On Saturday, July 20, from 10:00-11:00 am, Robert Max, author of Lake Tahoe based mystery novels "No Forced Entry" and "When It’s Personal," will give a talk on his books, as well as have them available for sale.
In Robert Max’s book "No Forced Entry: Be Careful Who You Let In," the main character Robert Bennet learns the hard way that leaving his old life behind will be more difficult than he could have ever imagined. In "When It’s Personal: Vengeance Knows No Bounds," Detective First Grade Dan Crane is plunged into an unthinkable nightmare with one hysterical phone call. More information on both novels can be found at robertmaxnovels.com.
Robert Max was born and raised in New York City. Max is a graduate of the City University of New York, where he earned a degree, with honors, in Political Science and Psychology. After ten years’ experience in law enforcement in New York, he moved to the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California.
Robert Max believes that his time as a police officer helps to ensure that the police work in his books are accurate. Over the years, in New York and in California, in classrooms and in the street, Max has learned much about life and death, about human nature, about what motivates people to do the things they do, and about love and loss, which helps him to write his suspenseful novels.
