The Merritt W. Dunlap, MD Family Medicine office is located in the Eagle Medical Plaza in North Carson City. Dunlap is a native of Northern Nevada and a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno and the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Family Medicine at the Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, CA.
Prior to affiliating with MDVIP and opening his private personalized care practice in August of 2013, Dunlap, who has practiced in Nevada since 1996, served six years in the US Navy. He was the Senior Medical Officer at Naval Air Station Fallon, NV and most recently practiced at a private mulitspecialty group in Carson City for 14 years. Dunlap is board-certified in family medicine.
Dunlap was recently certified in the Bale/Doneen Method, developed by Bradley Bale, MD and Amy Doneen, MSN, ARNP. Bale and Doneen are the leading experts in heart attack and stroke prevention in the country.
For several consecutive years, Dunlap received the Carson City Reader’s Choice Award for Best Doctor, as well as the Patient’s Choice Award; Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award; Award of Excellence for the UNSOM; and, was given the Doctor of the Year Award from the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center in 2007.
