Learn the History of Eilley Bowers and the Bowers Mansion June 21
On Wednesday, June 21, at 7 pm, Reno resident and longtime Nevada historian, Tamera “Tammy” Buzick, curator of the Bowers Mansion Museum, presents a lecture of the life of Eilley Orum Bowers and the Bowers Mansion.
Sponsored by the Historical Society of Dayton Valley at their quarterly General Membership Meeting. The lecture is at the Dayton Community Center at 170 Pike Street in Old Town Dayton. Buzick is a native Nevadan who grew up in Carson City.
A UNR graduate, high school mathematics teacher, she also began doing historical research on Eilley Bowers’ history in college after one of her research papers on Bowers “got out of control,” and she continues to do research on Eilley’s extraordinary Comstock story that began with a gold strike in Gold Hill around 1859.
Doors open at 6:30 pm and the public is welcome. Admission is FREE and refreshments will be served.
