28th Annual Pops Party Presents "Cowboys & Cowgirls"
Come soak up some sun at the “Cowboys & Cowgirls” performance during Carson City’s twenty-eighth annual Pops Party on Sunday, June 10, located at the Governor’s Mansion at 3 P.M. The “Cowboys & Cowgirls” program will feature classic western tunes performed by The Carson City Symphony and Chamber Singers, and Strings of the Schools youth orchestra.
The Symphony and the Schools orchestra will be performing together in “Horse Tails”, a set of cowboy tunes directed by David Bugli. The Carson City Chamber Singers, conducted by Judy Monson, will be performing a set of songs from the musical, “Oklahoma” and popular cowboy song, “Red River Valley”. Both choirs will be performing together in “Annie Get Your Gun”.
Country singer-songwriter and native of Virginia City, Richard Elloyan, will be performing his songs such as “Alkali Rose” and “Great Basin Waltz” with the Schools orchestra.
Admission is free, and food and beverages will be available during the concert. Although there will be seating on the lawn, guests are more than welcome to bring their own chairs and blankets.
In case of unfortunate weather, the concert will be relocated to be indoors. For more information, call Symphony at 775-883-4154 or visit the website at CCSymphony.com.
