Empire Elementary Receives Operation Helping Heroes Donation from Country Financial
Country Financial representative Sean Marler recently presented Empire Elementary with a 2021 Operation Helping Heroes award. Marler presented a donation $1,500 to the school which will be used by teachers to purchase incentive supplies for students.
Like many schools, Empire Elementary is trying to recover from lost academic instruction over the past year. To help combat the lost learning, teachers have implemented academic goal setting with students that are tracked and rewarded. The funds will help purchase things such as tablets, backpacks and sports equipment to incentivize and reward students for achieving their goals.
“Normally the teachers spend their own money to provide an added incentive for their students to test seriously, although many teachers still did, they were thankful to be able to have these extra funds in order to provide even more amazing prizes to their students,” said Empire Elementary Vice Principal Nathan Brigham. “It’s a breath of fresh air to see that our community cares about our students success and we are hoping we can build on this in years to come.”

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact communities across the U.S. and add pressure to the communities across the country, Country Financial is stepping in to provide funds for much-needed equipment and supplies.
“As a parent, I know how tough the last year has been for young students especially,” said Marler. “With my family being a part of the Empire community, I know how hard our teachers are working to keep our kids on track. I’m happy if this small gesture can make a positive impact this school year for both our students and teachers.”
Country Financial donated $3 million in 2020 to organizations and programs that support first responders and active duty service members, supporting the company’s vision to “enrich lives in the communities we serve.” Country Financial is continuing the program in 2021 and expanding the opportunity to educators, to help financial representatives further support their local community.
The Operation Helping Heroes program was created in 2015 to support non-profit events and programs that benefit active duty service members, veterans and their families.
