Western Nevada FC Coyotes enter two game weekend
The Western Nevada FC Coyotes have two matches this coming weekend. On Saturday the Coyotes will be traveling to Redwood City, Calif., to take on Jasa RWC. Jasa currently stands in the 4th spot with 12 points. On Sunday, WNFC is set to kickoff at home against EBFC Tecos Fire.
Kick-off will be 6 pm at Golden Eagle Regional Park. This weekend’s games will show a lot about the Coyotes character with tough matches against quality opponents back to back days. As of this point in the season, WNFC Coyotes of Carson City are alone in first place with 15 points.
GM and Head Coach Ian Hill is looking forward to the challenging weekend that the Coyotes face.
“It's going to be a challenging weekend for us as we look to play two games in 18 hours," said Hill. "The depth that we have on the team will make it doable. We're looking to players who haven't always had big minutes to come up big for us this weekend. I have no doubt that they will they train hard. They're prepared, and I know they will do an amazing job. Jasa is a quality team and they have great players. It will take a great effort to win that game on the road. Eastbay is always a tremendous rivalry and I know that they're going to have lots of energy and effort for Sunday evening. We need everyone to come out and support us on that Sunday night as we play the second game.”
Michael Cole who has been finding his name in the score sheets these past few weekends is looking to continue his form Saturday and Sunday night. Cole stated, “It's a big weekend for the team and a win would solidify us at the top of the table. We know these games will be very tough with having 2 games. But I believe we have been putting in the work and will be ready to handle business.”
William Nuttall who has been doing a little bit of it all for WNFC this season is taking preparations very seriously this week. He wants to make sure the whole team is in sync ready to display fast and furious football to earn positive results.
“The key for Saturday is to not underestimate our opponents, Jasa. They are a very well organized and pressing team which will put some pressure on us defensively but as we’ve shown so far this season, our defense is very solid," said Nuttall. "I’m confident in our teams attacking ability which has yet to hit full force. We’ve been working hard all week to get better and the group is taking each game at a time. A big focus has been on not getting ahead of ourselves and just enjoying and loving the game we play.”
