Minden Rotary Giving Cup Golf Tournament Benefits Children at Risk Set for May 20, 2023
MINDEN — The Rotary Club of Minden invites all golfers and their families, community members, and friends, to participate in the Minden Rotary Giving Cup Golf Tournament on May 20, 2023 at Genoa Lakes Golf Club.
This is the Club’s major fundraiser for 2023, replacing the infamous Beast Feast, with the goal of supporting Carson Valley community groups and nonprofits who focus on “children-at-risk”. This year Minden Rotary has partnered with the nonprofit FISH (Friends In Service Helping) to be the primary beneficiary of the Giving Cup. Of course, other community groups will benefit from the remaining proceeds. FISH is a NV nonprofit established in May 1979, to help those in need.
FISH does not rely on government funding and is truly a grassroots nonprofit, 98% of their multi-million dollar budget is funded through the local community via donations and grants, saving millions of dollars in taxes for the communities that they serve. “The success of the golf tournament and our efforts here will reduce hardships for children-at-risk,” stated Rotary President Marsha Leeg. “All proceeds will be put to work right here in the Carson Valley”.
The tournament is organized as a shotgun start (4-player teams) with tee time of 10:00 a.m. Cost is $150 per player, which includes green fees, cart fees, lunch, and a fun-filled reception at conclusion of play. Those not golfing are welcome to join us at the Awards Reception (cost $35 per person). Registration forms are available at RotaryGivingCup.com
The Rotary Club of Minden is excited to present the Rotary Giving Cup Golf Tournament to continue the Club’s community service and support of Carson Valley. Help make this another Carson Valley tradition by signing up today. Not a golfer? Then be a sponsor! Contact Rotary member Ken Miller at (775) 530-3345 for more details.
