Carson City's Catmandu introduces their Cats of the Week: Sakka and Katarra
Are you lonesome for a furry feline friend, or better yet, two? Meet Sakka and Katarra, a sweet bonded pair of young girl kitties. This dynamic duo is composed of 1-year old Sakka, a short-haired black female; and Katarra, a one-and-a-half-year-old long haired brown tabby. While they are both sweet and social, they have their own unique personalities and preferences.
Sakka is friendly, playful, curious and affectionate. She is braver and quicker to warm up to new situations than her best friend Katarra, but can be overwhelmed by Katarra’s high energy during playtime. Sakka is a very chill and sweet girl.
Little Miss Katarra is slower to warm up and give her trust to people she doesn’t know. However, once she is comfortable with you, she is a sweet, talkative, interactive little friend. Katarra is harness-trained and will go on walks with you once she feels safe and comfortable.
The girls would love to have a home with a catio or cat-proofed backyard where they could go outside but still be safe. It’s very important they not be allowed to just roam, as there are far too many predators and dangers in the world at large. The girls were very well-loved by their former owner and it shows. She was forced to surrender them when a big life change and move made it impossible for her to keep them with her.
Sakka and Katarra are good with people of all ages, including calm children age 6 and up. They have not been around dogs, but would likely do okay with a cat-friendly dog that is slowly introduced to them.
If you would like to meet these two sweetheart girls or any of the other kitties at Catmandu, please visit us Friday - Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1829 Brown Street.
Catmandu is a local non-profit no-kill cat rescue, adoption center and sanctuary. We currently have over 80 cats waiting for homes.
