Artistic Inspirations at Pioneer Academy
“All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” (Pablo Picasso)
Pioneer Academy art students recently experienced a return to normalcy with an excursion to the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno.
The museum currently exhibits a wide variety of powerful work, affording each member of the group an opportunity to find and connect with an artist.
Some students gravitated to Judy Chicago, some to the gorgeous landscapes of the Latimer school, while others found inspiration through the whimsical ceramic pieces made by Pablo Picasso.
Christian Powers, a junior, described the learning experience as: “This wasn’t a field trip but a journey of self-exploration. We further our understanding of ourselves by learning how others further themselves.”
A warm thank you to the NV Museum of Art for this experience.
