The making of 'The Misfits' movie in Dayton featured in presentation, photo display
To celebrate the recent re-opening of the historic Odeon Hall and Saloon in Dayton, the public is invited to attend a Power Point presentation and photo display of the Making of "The Misfits" at the Historical Society of Dayton Valley’s General Membership meeting this Wednesday, March 15.
The presentation begins at 7 p.m. at the Dayton Community Center, 170 Pike Street.
The movie starred Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, Montgomery Clift, and supporting actors, Eli Wallach and Thelma Ritter.
The movie was filmed along Pike Street in the 1960s, inside and outside the Odeon, included an exciting rodeo, and the movie’s grand finale provides a dramatic wild horse capture scene at the alkaline flats south of Stagecoach. This was Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable’s last movie.
Admission is free. Call Laura, 775-246-3256 or Gloria, 775-508-9043, for more information. The HSDV website is to https://DaytonNVHistory.org.
