Carson City Clerk Recorder puts call out for election workers for June 2024 primary
Carson City is actively seeking dedicated individuals to serve as Election Workers for the upcoming June 2024 Primary. As a vital component of our democratic process, Election Workers play a crucial role in ensuring fair, efficient, and transparent elections within our community.
With heartfelt appreciation for the commitment of our community members, Carson City Clerk Recorder, Scott Hoen, expresses gratitude, stating, "Helping with elections is the foundation of our democracy, and we appreciate all the help we can get." The city had 86 election workers during the last Presidential Preference Primary and aims to expand the team to 130 for the upcoming primary.
Carson City is privileged to have long-time volunteers, some dating back to the mid-90s, contributing their time and expertise to the electoral process. Their continued dedication reflects the strong spirit of civic engagement within our community.
Interested individuals are encouraged to fill out a poll worker application available on the Carson City website:
https://www.carson.org/government/departments-a-f/clerk-recorder/electio....
Alternatively, applicants can navigate to Carson.org/elections and select the "Quick Links" section to access the poll worker application link. You can come to the Elections office and fill out an application and ask questions as well.
Upon submission, volunteers will receive a letter from Carson City Elections to determine their availability for the two-week early election and election day time frames. Training is provided for each position, which includes a range of roles such as Traffic Monitors, Counting and Adjudication Boards, Ballot Box Attendants, Same-Day Registration Clerks, in person poll pad check in and more.
Election workers will receive compensation of $12.50 per hour as a token of appreciation for their invaluable service to Carson City.
For further inquiries or to submit applications, interested individuals can contact the Carson City Elections Department via email at elections@carson.org or visit the office at 885 E Musser Street, Suite 1025, Carson City, NV 89701.
Join us in upholding the integrity of our elections and be a part of shaping the future of Carson City.
