Nevada Small Ag Conference happening March 13 in Fallon
Whether you are already a producer or are at the beginning of your small farm adventure, join us for a three-day informative conference in Fallon, Nev. where veteran growers, farmers, and producers will share their know-how and experience.
The Conference will begin Wednesday, March 13 with tradeshow vendors and several not-to-miss pre-conference workshops: including Regenerative Ag and Meat Processing 10.
Thursday, March 14 begins with a look at Nevada’s agricultural outlook through the Nevada Farm Network and the USDA Risk Management Program. Breakout sessions will include topics like how to manage stress, small farm business planning, creating pollinator strips, organic wood management technologies, updates on tomato and melon research, and a discussion panel of Northern Nevada food systems. The evening will culminate in an “Ag and Artisans Showcase Reception” as well as a “Local Foods Dinner” (tickets sold separately.)
Friday’s events include topics related to workforce development, organic certification, producer grants, the importance of soil nutrients, poultry production and health, and the marketing of specialty products. The Conference closes with a discussion on what the USDA is doing for Nevada Small Agriculture.
