'Open Mic for Mike' to raise money for Carson City musician, businessman fighting cancer
Save the date of Saturday, March 9 to join in for the opportunity to make a huge impact on a treasured community member, Mike Epps, owner of A to Zen Gifts and Thrift Store in Carson City.
Mike was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 esophageal cancer. After undergoing chemo and radiation treatments, and removal of a tumor, more cancer was detected changing his status to Stage 4. To complicate matters, a leak was detected that filled his chest cavity with infection which has landed Mike in the ICU with even more challenges to overcome.
Being a cherished asset to the community, friends and acquaintances of Mike and his family want to reciprocate his generosity by hosting an Open Mic for Mike event.
The benefit will include a potluck feast, live entertainment with a variety of local musicians, a silent auction with numerous fabulous items for the public to bid on, and a Paint & Sip class to end the evening. All proceeds will go directly to the Epps family to help alleviate the mounting medical costs.
The event starts at 12:00 p.m. at A to Zen, 1803 N. Carson St. Please register for the Paint & Sip class at www.atozenonline.com by Wednesday, March 6th.
A limited amount of walk-in space may be available. If you can’t attend, your prayers are appreciated. You can also donate to the GoFundMe account here.
