'Wild Nevada: Rules of the Road' with Chris Orr is featured in Capital City Arts Initiative series
The Capital City Art Initiative’s Nevada Neighbors series of public talks presents journalist Chris Orr with "Wild Nevada: Rules of the Road." Viewers are invited to watch the talk online here.
In "Rules of the Road," Orr presents the life lessons she’s learned from filming PBS Reno's "Wild Nevada" series through clips of the five seasons of programs exploring the Silver State. She encourages everyone to nurture your sense of adventure, enhance your creativity, know your limits, embrace your authenticity, and cultivate your abilities to ad lib and laugh at yourself.
Orr has been at PBS Reno Public Television for more than 20 years. Orr is the station’s Director of Art and Digital Marketing and the co-host of the travel/adventure series "Wild Nevada". In her time at PBS Reno, Orr has developed multiple local-national websites, led numerous design projects, launched the station’s social media platforms and become a familiar on-air personality for the station.
The award-winning Wild Nevada series, which features Orr and co-host Dave Santina taking road trips and having adventures all around the Silver State, is currently in production on its fifth season and has more than 60 episodes in national distribution throughout the public television system. She is an alumna of the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno with dual degrees in Journalism and English Literature where she now serves as an adjunct faculty member.
