Volunteer and tour guide training celebrates Silver State's heritage at Nevada State Museum
As the Nevada State Museum prepares to celebrate another year sharing Nevada’s unique history, the Friends of the Museum are offering an introductory class for volunteers and tour guides at the Museum and Nevada State Capitol.
Volunteer and tour guide training is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, February 13 and 14. New and continuing volunteers will learn about the historical treasures housed at the Museum and the exceptional professional staff that support the Museum’s programs. Museum programs and tours are conducted for individual families, school groups, senior citizens, dignitaries and others from across Nevada and around the world.
The two-day, no-cost training will offer volunteers and tour guides with the opportunity to view many of the Museum’s ‘behind the scenes’ offerings and take a walk through Nevada’s history, viewing many items that are integral parts of the state’s story. New volunteers will be able to choose where they will be a good fit, as they participate in the training.
Registration is required. For more information and to register, contact the Nevada State Museum’s education office at nsmeducation@nevadaculture.org; 775-687-4810, ext. 237.
