Stewart museum in Carson City features 'Basketry and Art of the Great Basin' exhibition

Contemporary art exhibition “Inheritance: Basketry and Art of the Great Basin” will be on display through June 3, 2022, at the Stewart Indian School Cultural Center & Museum. Curator Melissa Melero-Moose announced the new exhibition, which opened last week in the museum’s Great Basin Native Artists Gallery.

Carson Valley Community Theater and the Douglas High School Drama Department have teamed up for a production of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee." Auditions are Dec. 1 at 6:00 p.m. and December 4 at 10:00 a.m. The cast includes both adults and teens.

Piano accompaniment is available or bring your own music. 

Show dates are March 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 7:30, March 20 and 27 at 2:00pm.

This project is supported in part by the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
