One of North Shore’s most popular summer events is the Bluesdays concert series. It takes place every Tuesday evening, June 16 – September 8, from 6 p.m-8:30 p.m. in the Village Events Plaza in Olympic Valley, California.

The Nevada Department of Agriculture says it has tested positive for the first laboratory-confirmed rabid bat found in Washoe County. Bat rabies is endemic throughout Nevada. The agency's Animal Disease Laboratory notes that between six and 20 bats annually test positive for rabies, usually between the months of May and October. However, in recent years positive bats have been confirmed as early as February.

A 49-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of child neglect after leaving two children inside a parked vehicle while she shopped inside a store, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Arrested was Lilia Gutierrez. She faces two felony charges of child neglect and endangerment with a bail of $5,000.
