The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) is sponsoring a fly tying class during the month of November.
The three-day progressive fly tying class will start with a basic fly and progressively work up to a more advanced fly by the third class.
If you always wanted to learn how to make your own fly’s or learn how to “match the hatch” this class will teach you the basics.
The class is designed for beginning to Intermediate level fly tiers and is free to all participants.
Class is limited to the first 15 persons who sign-up.

Of the more than 6 million trout that are released into Oregon waters every year, by far the largest are the ones that will be released over the next two months in Willamette Valley lakes and ponds.
Starting next week, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will release 238 of the nearly 3,000 super-sized brood trout that will be stocked at popular fishing holes from Eugene to Portland from now through the middle of January.

Three Australians suspected of poaching were arrested last week on multiple charges and later booked into the Elmore County jail.
Eleven charges have been filed against the three men, with a combined bond set at $165,000.
Anton Kepeller, 58, Darren Tubb, 43, and Samuel Henley, 18, all from Tasmania, Australia, were contacted and later arrested by Idaho Fish and Game conservation officers on Thursday, November 3, near Atlanta.

The two parking spots that belonged to Keegan Aiazzi and Stephen Anderson, two juniors who died last year in a scuba accident off the coast of Monterey have been left empty in the CHS lot. A weeklong effort by Carson City JobConnect has rounded up 521 job listings in the Carson City area. The effort's goal was to get more employers to list their job openings with the state's one-stop employment centers.

Friends of the Urban Forest have begun an effort to plant 10,000 trees in Carson City over the next five years. With a grant from the Nevada Division of Forestry's Urban Forest Fund, they kicked off the effort last weekend by planting 30 native cottonwood saplings in Fulstone Wetlands Park, off Northridge Drive and Russell Way.
