Eagle Valley Middle School LEGO Robotics team got a big boost from the Rotary Club of Carson City this week. The team recently won the state championship and is the only team from Nevada to be invited to the World Festival in Houston, Texas. Rotary Club members donated $3,000.00 to help defray travel expenses.

CAPITAL CITY COOPERATION: The Nevada Guard’s 92nd Civil Support Team supported its community first-responder partners in the Carson City region Thursday by providing instruction and assistance at the Carson City Fire Department Quarterly Hazardous Materials Training near Fire Station 52.

Just before 11 a.m., a crash with unknown injuries was reported at Arrowhead and Highway 50.

First responders are enroute to the scene.

Lyon County Sheriff's Office has received several reports of thefts and larcenies in the Sutro area of Dayton. These particular crimes are happening in the evening hours but could happen during any time of the day.

The unknown suspects are looking for opportunity by searching unlocked vehicles and garages. They are taking anything of value to include tools, money, and other items.

The annual Eggstravaganza is back at the Nevada State Railroad Museum Saturday March 30 and Sunday March 31.

The fun begins both days at 9 a.m. and continues through 4:30 p.m.

A Dayton man was arrested Thursday for three counts alleged sexual assault on a child under the age of 14, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.

Carson High School Speech and Debate had a busy March, competing in three separate State Championships and districts, including the Sagebrush District Tournament, a national qualifier, where Reno High School hosted 16 teams, competing to earn entries to the National Speech and Debate Association Tournament this June.

The annual Underwater Egg Hunt at the Carson City Aquatic Facility is back for another year Saturday, March 30.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 31-year-old man Wednesday for suspicion of multiple felony sex crimes with a child.
