Carson City Food For Thought Fundraiser at Governor's Mansion
Food for Thought, a program that helps feed homeless children in the Carson City region, will hold a fundraiser, Coconuts for Kids, on May 22 at the Governor's Mansion from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Hawaiian-themed fundraiser will have hula dancers, authentic island food and an auction. All are welcome to the event.
Food for Thought's two annual fundraisers are the organization's biggest funding sources for purchasing food for the 700-plus children it serves each week. About 11,000 meals are served to children each month.
Tickets are available at Food for Thought anytime between 8:30 and 2:30 this week and next week, or at the Carson City Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $50 each - a table of 8 for $400.
Food for Thought is located at 3579 Highway 50 East #221 in Carson City. Call (775) 883-1011 or go to www.nvfoodforthought.org.
