Carson City Sheriff's deputies have arrested the following people based on felony allegations:
- Georgann B. McPeters, 55, a Dayton woman, was transferred from Lyon County to the Carson City Detention Facility at 12:30 p.m. Monday. McPeters was transferred on a felony embezzlement warrant in her name. Bail has been set at $20,000.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office has released a notification of two registered sex offenders who have moved into the area. James Lawrence Varella and Troy David Heflin Jr. have both been convicted of a sex offense and are required to register with the Carson City Sheriff's Office, which they have complied with.

CARSON CITY – Danny Tarkanian narrowly beat out state Sen. Barbara Cegavske in the 4th Congressional District GOP primary today, surviving a tough challenge in the contest to see who will face Democrat state Sen. Steven Horsford in the November general election.

This morning just after 9:30, a semi truck tipped over as it turned southbound onto South Carson Street from Fairview. The Nevada Highway Patrol reports that the southbound lanes of South Carson Street reopened at about 2:30 this afternoon.
The truck was loaded with 40,000 pounds of auto parts, and the load apparently shifted when making the turn. No one was injured.

Clark County casinos did very well in April, overcoming a bad month in northern Nevada to push the statewide gaming win up 6.1 percent over the previous year.
The Carson Valley gaming region, which includes Carson City, was down 3 percent. Washoe County was down 15.4 percent. On the plus side, North Las Vegas posted a 43.3 percent increase, and downtown Las Vegas was up 24.9 percent.

CARSON CITY – Nevada’s casinos returned to their winning ways in April, posting a statewide total win of $855.7 million for a 6.2 percent gain over April 2011, the Gaming Control Board reported today.
Clark County overall was up 8.9 percent in April to $743.7 million while the rest of the state did not fare as well. Washoe County was down 15.5 percent, South Lake Tahoe was down 4.4 percent and Elko County was down 2.3 percent.

Carson City Sheriff's deputies arrested the following individuals based on felony allegations:
- Rex Warren, 31, a Stagecoach man, at about 2:30 p.m. Monday. Warren was arrested for parole obsconder as well as four misdemeanor failure to appear warrants in his name and obstructing or resisting an officer. Because of the nature of the felony allegation, no bail has been set and extradition is in process.

But today is your last chance the to cast your ballot and help determine who will face off in the general election.
