The new Business Achievement Center's 1st Open House on May 6th was a success. We thank everyone who attended and it was a pleasure to meet business people in our community.

Our next Open House is scheduled for Thursday, September 15th from 4-6 PM.

We are a hybrid facility consisting of a business incubator, resources, training, services and business co-op. Our group of professionals is here to help businesses from startup to expansion, including taking companies public.

The 28th annual Carson City Rendezvous, the area’s largest special event, returns Friday through Sunday to celebrate the wild west and Civil War era history.

The 150th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln's presidential inauguration is just one of many new events for the free three-day Civil War-era living history set at Mills Park, according to a news release issued by the Carson City Visitors Bureau.

The opening ceremony will be a special re-enactment of the inauguration of Abraham Lincoln, the nation’s 16th president, at Mills Park on Saturday at 10 a.m.

CARSON CITY – A bill implementing “performance-based” budgeting, including requirements for agencies to set benchmarks and goals and be held accountable for their spending priorities using quantifiable measurements, has been signed into law by Gov. Brian Sandoval.
Assembly Bill 248, sponsored by Assemblywoman Debbie Smith, D-Sparks, and Assembly Speaker John Oceguera, D-Las Vegas, passed both houses of the Legislature in unanimous votes. It was signed into law on Sunday.

We just received an automated announcement that Carson City School District buses were vandalized and would not be running this morning. The announcement urged parents to make efforts to get their children to school however they can. According to one person in the district office, the entire fleet of school buses were vandalized.

Update: It appears vandals flattened the front two tires on all of the district's 44 buses. The district hopes the buses will be ready for service this afternoon.
