Firefighters from Central Lyon County Fire, Storey County and Carson City are on scene of an escaped controlled burn off of Minor Road in Dayton. Arriving units estimate the fire at 5 acres, spreading into heavy fuels, according to the Eastern Sierra Fire & Ice page on Facebook.

Gov. Joe Lombardo, a Republican, criticized rules for the Nevada Republican Party’s Feb. 8 presidential caucus barring candidates from participating both in the caucus and in a state-run presidential primary two days earlier, saying it is “unacceptable for the voters.”
