The Capital City Community Band, under the direction of Nick Jacques, will tie a big red bow around 2023 by presenting our annual Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 2:00 PM. This FREE concert will take place in the Boldrick Theater in the Carson City Community Center.

As a young mother hoping to create positive and lasting holiday memories for my daughter, I would book us for breakfast with Santa that usually took place in a large department store when we lived in Washington D.C and San Diego.

The event was memorable though I don’t recall the menu, for the food was secondary to the overall event. What I recall most was the delight of children as they spied Santa and Mrs. Claus or the elves.

The University of Nevada, Reno extension office will be hosting a workshop about regenerative agriculture and gardening Thursday, Nov. 30 in Gardnerville.

The workshop will cover the basics of soil health, building organic carbon, utilizing cover crops, and much more.

A man who led Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies on a vehicle pursuit late Wednesday afternoon and was wanted for parole violation was arrested Thursday, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office.

Join Nevada Dance Company this Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 24-26, at the Carson City Community Center Theatre for a magical performance of the holiday classic "The Nutcracker."

Performances feature principal dancers who have performed with professional ballet companies such as Birmingham Royal Ballet (England), Slovak National Ballet, Sacramento Ballet and Smuin Ballet among others.

Jack C. Davis Observatory's lecture series focusing on topics in astronomy and science continues on Saturday night, Nov. 18. Observatory volunteer Robert Anderson will present a discussion on "The Rise of the Reflector." His presentation will cover a history of lens-type telescopes and how and why they became larger and larger.
