Brad Bonkowski has announced that he plans to run for Carson City Supervisor Ward 2.

Bonkowski is the third candidate to announce a run for the seat being vacated by Shelly Aldean, who decided not to run for reelection after serving on the board of 10 years. Liz Teixeira and Maurice White have also announced their intentions to run for the seat.

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency announced that the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a favorable ruling on Shorezone litigation between TRPA and the League to Save Lake Tahoe, allowing the agency discretion on how to determine its baseline measurement of buoys on Lake Tahoe.

On Feb. 12, Sal and Catali Quilici of Dayton and Elaine and I traveled by two convoying vehicles on U.S. 395 from Carson City to Lone Pine, Calif., which was the half-way point to our final destination of La Quinta.
It was our annual winter escape to Southern California.

The four of us had been invited to join Don and Norma Reasons of Carson City for several days at one of their friend’s home, located across from the ninth green at the PGA West – Stadium Golf Course in La Quinta.

CARSON CITY – A conservative Nevada think tank today published a guide for policymakers and the public on issues ranging from the state spending to public education to tax policy.

The 88-page sourcebook, called “Solutions 2013” is a compilation of research and policy recommendations from the Nevada Policy Research Institute addressing 39 different subject areas.

Five men from the South Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley areas face fines after being cited by the U.S. Forest Service for riding snowmobiles in the Mokelumne Wilderness on the Eldorado National Forest. Snowmobiling and any kind of motorized activity is illegal in nationally-designated wilderness areas.
The riders were issued mandatory notices to appear before the federal magistrate in Sacramento.
