Visitors to the annual Carson High School Holiday Crafts Fair will also have a chance to look through the school’s yearbooks which date to the 1920s and high school newspapers dating back to 1950.
In addition to viewing these unique historical archives, visitors may buy yearbooks from past years in this “Garage Sale” fundraiser. All money raised will benefit the school’s publication class which prints the Carneta yearbook and maintains the online Senator News newspaper.

With around 63 percent of Carson City's 26,000 voters taking care of business prior to today's General Election by showing up to the courthouse for early voting or casting their ballots by mail, voter turnout Tuesday has been a steady and even flow, election officials have observed.

There was an expected rush early when the polls opened, with 1,300 voters making it to the Carson City Community Center before 10 a.m., said Carson City Clerk-Recorder Alan Glover. Otherwise turnout has been as expected: No long waits. No crowding.

A 29-year-old man died and a 24-year-old woman was injured in a head-on vehicle crash early Monday in Fallon, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.
NHP troopers were dispatched to State Route 116 at Churchill County Mile Marker 3 near Mesquite road in Fallon at 12:13 a.m. Preliminary investigation indicates that a Black 2007 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling westbound on SR116 for an unknown reason the Jetta crossed the centerline and entering the eastbound travel lane striking a 1997 Tan Chevrolet Suburban head on.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for their assistance in identifying two subjects who were noticed looking into vehicles, early morning on Sunday, Nov. 4. These subjects may be connected to other burglaries occurring in Carson City.

The first 10 seconds of the video clearly shows two subjects, one easily identified as a white male with glasses and short hair wearing a white or light-colored hooded sweatshirt and jeans. Use the scroll button (the circle below the frame of the video) to play and repeat. Viewers can also hit the pause button at the 4 and 5 second mark.

CARSON CITY – The precincts have been walked, the issues debated and the media campaigns run. Now many Nevada voters will get to weigh in on five critical races to determine whether Republicans or Democrats will control the state Senate after the polls close tomorrow.

The 21-member Senate currently has an 11-10 Democratic edge.

Gov. Brian Sandoval and many of his Republican colleagues are working to change this by winning at least four of five of the races in play between the two parties on Election Day tomorrow.

A year-old child reportedly fell out of a two-story apartment complex in the 1200 block of Carson Meadows and Como Street in Carson City Monday afternoon. The baby will be taken by Care Flight, which was ordered by Carson City Fire Department and paramedics at the scene. The emergency call came shortly after 2 p.m.
Care Flight was to reportedly land near the Boys and Girls Club and will take the child to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
No other details have been made available.

With widespread use of social media among adults and children, there's been an uptick in the amount of cyber-bullying cases brought to Carson City area school officials and law enforcement. Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto will discuss this and other internet safety concerns on Saturday, Nov. 10 beginning at 2:30 p.m. The presentation, geared for parents, students and educators, will touch on cyber-predators, sexting and cyber-bullying.

A vehicle rollover accident was reported in Carson City on Sunday night in which three were ejected and sustained traumatic injuries. The accident was reported at 9:28 p.m. in the Combs Canyon area near Lakeview and Ormsby. Three Care Flight helicopters were dispatched and landed at Western Nevada College.

Here is the latest Carson City Supervisor candidate contribution report from the Nevada Secretary of State's office. The report was issued Nov. 2 and it contains contributions from Oct. 13 to Nov. 1.
