Nevada State Bank believes in the importance of education and the difference it makes in the community. The bank continually strives to volunteer and invest in the future of the state’s children. Now, Nevada State Bank is asking for the public’s help.

League to Save Lake Tahoe Executive Director Rochelle Nason has resigned today, effective October 2011, after nearly 20 years of working to protect and restore Lake Tahoe.

League Program Director Carl Young will serve as interim executive director, with Nason serving as a senior advisor, until a new executive director has been selected.

A Carson City Deputy had to use his Taser to fend off an angry dog while answering a domestic violence call yesterday afternoon in the 2100 block of Columbia Street.

A woman called 911 for an unknown problem and told police to hurry. According to the arrest report, when the deputy arrived, he saw a 58-year-old male subject leaving the residence. When the deputy asked the man if there was a problem in the house, he said his girlfriend was having a seizure, but continued to his vehicle as if he were going to leave.
