This is the second in a series of three weekly articles about an unforgettable, trout fishing trip taken on August 16-23 to Mitchell Lake in Cariboo Provincial Park in British Columbia.
The first article last week described our travel in a single engine aircraft from Dayton, Nevada to Auburn, Washington; then to Abbotsford, British Columbia; from there to Williams Lake, B.C.; and then the last leg of our journey in a helicopter to Mitchell Lake.
This week, you will read about the people in our trout fishing party, the comfortable accommodations and the tasty meals.

Carson City Leadership Institute is one of the premier programs operated by the Carson City Area Chamber of Commerce. The first class graduated in 1989 and the program has been a success ever since. When looking through a roster of graduates, you will see familiar names, many of whom have gone on to public office or taken jobs that keep them in the public eye.

The Millennium Bugs, a five-piece combo affiliated with the Mile High Jazz Band, will perform on Friday, Sept. 7, 7:00 to 10 p.m., at Silver Oak Golf Club and Event Center, 1251 Country Club Drive, Carson City. Admission is free.
The musicians are Gil Linsley, trumpet; Dan Lancaster, sax, flute, clarinet; David Bugli, keyboard; Charles DiLaura, bass; and Neil Strocchio, drums. The group plays a variety of jazz styles for listening and dancing.

CARSON CITY – Democrats continued to outpace Republicans in their voter registration efforts in August, signing up 12,163 new voters to 5,042 for Republicans, the Secretary of State’s office reported today.

Registered nonpartisans increased by 6,575 during the same time period, also exceeding the registrations by the GOP.

Former Vagos biker club president Patrick William Ouellette, 30, was sentenced Tuesday in Carson City District Court to 16 years in prison for assault and with a deadly weapon stemming from a 2011 beating case against a fellow member, the district attorney's office reported.

A South Lake Tahoe woman died in a motorcycle crash on Monday near Glenbrook on Highway 50, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports. Jennifer Lyrea Leonard, 50, died after being thrown from the motorcycle she was riding on.

Hope and the promise of it for hundreds of Carson City area cancer patients lands on the lawn of the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center today. HopeFest, an annual benefit concert that will feature the music of Mo5aic and The Cutters, is one of the Carson City's biggest fundraising events with 100 percent of the money raised going directly to supports local cancer patients in need.
