Carson City fire and emergency crews have responded tonight to a brush fire reported near a water tower area between Damon Road and Grandview Drive. Flames and smoke are apparently visible, according to initial reports.
Firefighters are entering the hilly area from both directions, according to police scanner traffic reports. The fire call came in at about 7:47 this evening. As of about 8:20 firefighters are reporting that they are beginning to get a handle on the flames. Breezy conditions continue tonight, which apparently fanned some of the flames early on.
