The American Association of University Women, Capital Branch is pleased to announce that Tania Villanueva and Alexis Fallon are the 2011 recipients of Branch scholarships. Both young women are currently attending UNR.
Each year the Capital Branch presents scholarships to graduating high school seniors. The money is raised through annual Holiday Pecan Sales and A Feast of Chocolate, which is held each February. The women of the Branch thank all who assisted them by participating in these local fund raisers.

C-A-L Ranch Stores, an expanding ranch and home store chain, will open a new store in Carson City in April 2012. The new store will be located in the existing Safeway building on Carson Street, north of the Carson Shopping Center. Probation was revoked Monday for a 30-year-old Carson City woman with multiple violations including failure to make restitution for credit card fraud totaling $2,400.
