On Monday, October 17, Saliman Road will be closed in the southbound direction between Fairview Drive and Colorado Street from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for sealing. One lane of traffic will remain open in the northbound direction.

During the period of Monday, October 17 through Wednesday, October 19, NDOT will be slurry sealing the following roads. Lane closures with flagger control will be in place and minor delays are expected.

  • Snyder Avenue from Bigelow Drive to US 395.
  • Frontage Road from Snyder Avenue to Old Clear Creek Road.

The Northern Nevada premiere of Phantom of the Opera, Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic tale of forbidden love, will arrive at the Carson City Community Center during weekends in early November, according to the Carson City Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The production will appear Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 4 - 20 at 2 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $18-22 and may be purchased by phone or in person at the Performing Arts Office of Western Nevada College, 775-445-4249. Parking is free.

Apparently, the patrons of the Carson Nugget got to see a little more of Tyler Dean Davies than they wanted to.

On Tuesday evening, Carson City Sheriff's deputies received a report of a man running naked down the street. One deputy spotted Davies, 21, running southbound on North Carson Street near the intersection with Robinson Street. According to the arrest report, Davies ignored orders to stop and instead ran into the northwest doors of the Carson Nugget. Another deputy stopped Davies with a Taser inside the casino near the coffee shop.
