CARSON CITY — A Republican Hispanic governor will soon decide the fate of a Democratic redistricting plan that has both political parties embroiled in a debate over fairness to Nevada’s Hispanic population.

Reno TV station KRNV Channel 4 reports this afternoon that documents filed in Reno Justice Court show that two of the suspects arrested and charged with an armed robbery Saturday night as part of a string of robberies between Reno and Carson City, have also reportedly admitted to participating in the fatal shooting of a Reno man early Sunday morning. Carson City and Douglas County paramedics are at the scene of an accident involving a motorcyclist who reportedly spun-out in the westbound lane of Highway 50 this afternoon, about 1 mile east from Spooner Summit. Care Flight was notified but the motorcyclist will be transported by ground ambulance, according to dispatch. The accident was reported at around 12:43 p.m.

The daughter of the motorcyclist, who was apparently following him in a white sedan, told dispatch that her father was conscious and alert but somewhat dazed.

CARSON CITY – Gov. Brian Sandoval is questioning whether the Nevada Legislature can have an in-depth debate about the state’s tax structure with less than four weeks left in the session, but he is about to find out.
In comments made Tuesday, Sandoval said he asked Democrats in January to present any proposals they wanted to be considered to raise revenue. Fourteen weeks later there is still no bill, he said.
