One elementary school in Carson City is helping foster trust and strengthen relationships between students and law enforcement. Sheriff Ken Furlong and officers from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office assembled this morning for “Donuts & Deputies” at Mark Twain Elementary where students, parents and teachers had an opportunity to meet local deputies in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere while enjoying delicious donuts together.

Saltwater Tavern is Carson City’s newest bar, owned by Jeannie Morgan and husband Troy, opening up shop in the vacant Remedy’s building — including an expansion into what was once a salon next door.

The annual Harvest Train Festival is pulling into the station at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City, bringing two full days of train rides and autumn-inspired activities, including pumpkin patch, petting zoo (Saturday only), crafts hosted by Messy Kids Art School, and carnival-style games hosted by local non-profits.
