Twenty years ago, Carson City lost one of its finest. Pat Bates' death was a loss for the community, the state, and for those who were personally touched by her. And yet, because of the life she lived, Pat continues to live in the hearts of those who knew her, those who loved her.

Steve Jobs, the visionary who created products from the Macintosh computer to the iPhone, died today. Without his genius, I'm not sure you would be reading this website today. I've used Apple computers for the last 25 years. I'm writing this on an Apple MacBook Pro, after hearing the news from an alert on my iPhone.
