The Carson Valley Arts Council is pleased to present an evening with Quarteto Nuevo. The band will perform at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda in Minden, at 7 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024.

The production of "The Play That Goes Wrong" follows the misadventures of the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society as they prepare for a production. It is a chaotic satire combining country-house murder mysteries and the trials and tribulations of small-scale theater companies and the thespians in these groups.

The spotlight shone brightly on Wild Horse Children’s Theater Junior Theater Festival Performance Troupe as they clinched top honors at the Junior Theater Festival West. This glittering event, held in Sacramento is a dedicated celebration of outstanding student-driven musical programs from across the globe.

Anticipate the coming of spring with the Mile High Jazz Band, singer Jakki Ford, and six award-winning poets and readers. "Blooming,” an evening of big-band jazz and poetry, will be on Tuesday, March 12, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Gina's Good Life Music & Lounge, 507 N. Carson Street, inside the Carson Nugget. The music is free, donations are welcome.

Gina's is a smoke-free, climate-controlled venue, and has a well-stocked bar.

New time for our Sunday Jam Session - 5pm now. Tavern is open at 3pm so you have time to come in and get a good seat before the Jammers get going. You never know who will show up so it's always a fun time.

Guillermo Bert, an artist who was born in Santiago de Chile in 1959, was recently featured at the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno. Carson High School Heritage Spanish 2 students, who had previously studied the artist and some of his works, were able to visit the exhibition last month.

In February 2024, Youth Theatre Carson City’s Showstoppers show choir traveled to Southern California to compete in the Musical Theatre Competitions of America, a national competition against teams representing from across North America and learning from some of Broadway’s biggest and brightest stars.
