Many small businesses had a tough time during the mandated Covid shutdown and had to survive the best they could and, fortunately for Carson City, many were able to withstand the economic downturn though most will tell you it hasn’t been easy.

Carson City’s Downtown Vintage Market prepares for second year with new beer garden, kids zone and more

Last year, Travis Legatzke and Shannon Cord unveiled the Downtown Vintage Market on Stewart Street to great success.

Tucked away in historic downtown Carson City, the market offers everything from antiques, to arts and crafts, collectibles to furniture. The pair have also obtained the first-ever mobile-only liquor license in the city, according to Shannon, for use in their market beer garden.

Kids & Horses 10th Annual Fundraiser Golf Tournament

Carson City's Pioneer Academy students visit 'Ghost Army' at Nevada Museum of Art

Earlier in the month, select world history/art students from Pioneer Academy were treated with a field trip to the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno to attend the beginning of a new exhibit.

Four accused of robbery at CVS stores in Carson City, Reno booked into Carson City Jail

Four men allegedly involved in the April 1 robbery of a Carson City CVS store and a CVS store in Reno were brought to Carson City Jail on Tuesday for warrants related to the crimes.

Nevada Division of State Lands to receive $1.4M to reduce wildfire threat at Marlette Lake

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Division of State Lands is excited to announce that it will receive nearly $1.4 million for hazardous fuels reduction at Marlette Lake. This project will help protect the area from the threat of wildfire, ensuring visitors to the area can continue to enjoy this beautiful alpine lake.

775 Offroad and Recovery 4x4 Car Show happening Saturday at Fuji Park in Carson City

775 Offroad & Recovery, Northern Nevada Offroad Rescue is hosting a 4x4 only Show-N-Shine this Saturday, May 6 at Fuji Park (across from the Carson City Costco). Lots of cool 4x4s, vendors, Huge Raffles, an RC track for the kids,and a Kids Learn and Win event with prizes for the kids. There will be firetrucks and Smoky Bear might make an appearance! Event is free to spectators.
