RV fire in parking lot of South Carson Street extinguished
Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Monday afternoon to the parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings in the 3800 block of South Carson Street for an RV on fire. It was extinguished by the time firefighters arrived.
The call came into dispatch at around 3:10 p.m. of a vehicle fire. Calls to 911 then reported it was an RV on fire and producing smoke in the area. The fire was extinguished by the time firefighters arrived.
A few minutes later, dispatch received a 911 call about a possible fire in the Voltaire Canyon area, the same area of last week's fire. The "fire" turned out to be whirlwinds shooting dust into air, according to firefighters on scene.
Meanwhile, the threat of thunderstorms expected to arrive in Carson City and Western Nevada Tuesday afternoon and last through Wednesday has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Fire Weather Watch for the region.
