Carson City man jailed for felony domestic battery after fourth reported incident
A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday afternoon for felony domestic battery.
Steven Michael was arrested after deputies responded to a report of a domestic assault.
When they arrived at the scene, they spoke to a woman who stated she’d been in an altercation with Michael over his drinking. She said she was upset that she could smell alcohol on him, and learned he’d consumed four beers and a pint of Vodka. She told deputies she’d found what was left of the Vodka and poured it out.
She told deputies she’d then told Michael to pack his things and leave. Michael then “got passed” and kicked her on her right knee, taking her to the ground. She said he began throwing things around the room and something had struck her face.
Deputies located a coffee cup and spilled coffee on the bed and ground.
Deputies spoke to Michael who denied anything happening at all, not even an argument. He was highly intoxicated with red watery eyes, slurred speech, and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person.
Michael was slow in answering questions and said that he raised his foot and put it back down. After a few minutes he still denied anything happening.
Deputies took Michael into custody. He refused a breath test and was transported to the hospital for a medical clearance.
Upon booking, deputies learned that Michael had pled guilt to three prior domestic batteries in 2019.
He was booked for felony domestic battery with a bail of $15,000.
