HopeFest cancer fundraiser not over yet, raffle continues for new car

In partnership with Sierra Nevada Realtors, the 12th annual HopeFest returned on August 5 as Cornhole’s Best for HopeFest, a rockin’ cornhole tournament. More than 300 people from the Carson City area to join their community in some healthy competition, all for a good cause.
“Thank you to all who came out and supported,” said Angelina Craig, Director of Philanthropy at Carson Tahoe Health. “We were floored at the participation, having 90 cornhole teams and some stellar spectators. Our sponsors and community continue to show up for one another and we are so grateful to be witness.”
Raffle ticket sales, sponsorships, and the event itself has already helped raise over $90,000 to support community members facing cancer. But, as many know, the need is never over.
To help reach our goal of $100,000, Carson Tahoe Health (CTH) is still selling raffle tickets for a chance to win new car, or $10K, courtesy of Dick Campagni Carson City Toyota. The winner will be drawn on the Carson Tahoe Health Facebook page live on August 31. The winner does not have to be “present” to win, and will be contacted after the drawing.
“Carson City Toyota proudly gives back to our community, in the best of times and the worst,” said Jeff Campagni, General Manager. “We know cancer is one of the most difficult things a family can experience, so we are honored to support HopeFest for another year in their efforts to help local patients in their fight against cancer.”
Raffle tickets are $20 each, or 6 tickets for $100. They can be purchased at CarsonTahoe.com/HopeFest, at the CTH Gift Shop, at Carson City Toyota, or by contacting Carson Tahoe’s Center for Philanthropy at (775) 445-5678 or emailing philanthropy@carsontahoe.org.
The funds raised will help provide assistance with rent and mortgage payments, gas vouchers, groceries and more to local patients fighting cancer. Additionally, these donations will help pay for the refurbishment of Carson Tahoe Health’s no-cost Merriner Cottages which provide lodging for cancer patients and their families.
Delivering the highest standard of comprehensive cancer care in the region, Carson Tahoe Health provides various forms of support for individuals battling cancer and their families. Those services include no-cost lodging for patients and families at their Merriner Cottages. The cottages, which have housed an average of 1,875 night stays per year for a total of over 29,147 nights of free lodging for patients and their families since they opened in 2006, will be refurbished with money raised from the tournament to continue to provide homes for families dealing with the financial burden of a cancer diagnosis.
