Carson City Humane Society's Pet of the Week: Pat the Cat
Meet Pat the Cat! This happy tabby is 12 years old and has been in the Carson shelter since late April. Pat loves toys and blankets and is a staff favorite because of his curiosity and funny antics. The best way to get his motor purring is to have his chin and cheeks scratched. Pat is quiet, friendly, calm, loves being brushed and catnip makes him feel extra silly!
Pat also enjoys sleeping in cat towers and prefers the inside to the outdoors — a window view is all he needs.
Pat doesn’t let his old age and health issues stop him from living his best life. With moderate dental disease and special dietary needs for kidney issues, he just needs a little extra care from the vet.
When asked to describe himself, Pat meowed this:
“First impression of me? Cutie, you know it! I enjoy napping, lounging and being lazy — but I'm sweet as can be! My challenge? My kidneys are a bit troubled, so I need a special diet, regular vet visits, and a stress-free home help too. Ask about me today!”
What kind of home would be best for Pat? As a senior cat, older kiddos and teens with previous cat experience might be great for him. He’s curious about other cats in the Cat Room he’s currently in, too.
Currently, the Carson shelter is pretty full of both cats and dogs when compared to how it’s been in recent months. That’s why adoption fees were waived this past week for adult dogs, adult cats, and small animals. So yes, Pat is free to adopt right now!
If you think Pat might be perfect for your home, please come visit and adopt him at the Nevada Humane Society Carson City Animal Shelter.
