Halloween Delights and Frights Coming to the Virginia Truckee Railroad Oct. 14-31
The entire family will enjoy this spirited collection of themed steam train rides on the Virginia Truckee Railroad. The Pumpkin Patch train will be powered by Steam Engine No. 29 and feature a stop at the Gold Hill Depot Pumpkin Patch.
Passengers will board at the historic F St 1870’s Depot in Virginia City and be able to get off the train and choose their favorite pumpkin with the assistance of our helpers.
Then its back on board for the return trip to Virginia City. All the cars will be open-air, so dress warmly and bring your costume, if you want. These trains fill up fast, so reservations are strongly recommended.
The Pumpkin Patch train will run Oct. 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22 at 11:20 am, 1:20 pm, 3pm with a 5pm dusk train on Oct. 14, 20 and 21. Fares will be $27 for adults and $17 for children ages 5-12 and will include a pumpkin.
The Haunted Halloween Steam Train of Lights will be the highlight of your Halloween season. Imagine a huffing and puffing steam engine decorated with thousands of LED lights traveling through the dusky hills of the Comstock along a route that has been transformed into a Halloween fantasy land complete with dancing skeletons, wandering zombies and other spooky scenes that will send chills down your spine.
The Electric Train of Lights runs Friday, Oct.27, Saturday, Oct.28 and Sunday, Oct.29 at 5pm, 6:30, and 8pm. On October 31 there will be three special Train of Lights runs at 5, 6:30 and 8pm. Fares will be $24 for adults and $18 for kids. Wear your costume and be prepared to have a chilling good time!
