Nevada Humanities to Host Informational Grant Meetings in Reno, Henderson, Las Vegas, and Elko
Nevada Humanities will hold a series of free informational grant meetings in Henderson, Las Vegas, Reno, and Elko in January 2020. These meetings are open to anyone interested in learning more about applying for project grant funding from Nevada Humanities.
Nevada Humanities offers grants of up to $5,000 to nonprofit organizations and government entities, such as libraries and schools, to fund public and educational programs in the humanities.
The Nevada Humanities grant application deadline is March 10, 2020, for projects taking place beginning July 1, 2020, and running through June 30, 2021. Applications requesting $1,000 or less may be submitted at any time, at least ten weeks prior to the proposed project date.
Grant guidelines for 2020 will be available on the Nevada Humanities website in late January 2020 at: nevadahumanities.org/grants. The majority of grant funding provided by Nevada Humanities is made up of federal funds given to Nevada Humanities to be distributed within the State of Nevada, and all Nevada Humanities grants are dependent on the availability of these federal dollars from the federal government.
Nevada Humanities funds projects that encourage community engagement and conversation. This may take the form of face-to-face dialogue, such as lectures, forums, and round-table discussions, or through programs that stimulate thought and reflection, such as media productions, film screenings, exhibitions, local history projects, and projects that explore local culture and Nevada’s diverse heritage and unique places.
The grant information meetings will take place:
- Reno: Wednesday, January 8, 2020, 3 pm, KNPB Conference Room, 1670 North Virginia Street, Reno
- Las Vegas: Wednesday, January 15, 2020, 11 am or 3 pm, Nevada Humanities, 1017 South First Street, #190, Las Vegas
- Henderson: Thursday, January 16, 2020, 3 pm, Nevada State College, Rogers Student Center, 3rd Floor, Room RSC 370, 1300 Nevada State Drive, Henderson
- Elko: Friday, January 31, 2020, 10 am, Elko County Library, 720 South Court Street, Elko.

Contact Bobbie Ann Howell at bahowell@nevadahumanities.org or 702-800-4670 to schedule an appointment, or for more information about Nevada Humanities and the informational grant meetings.
