Capital City Arts Initiative 2023 Aim Scholarship awarded to DHS student Paloma Moon
The Capital City Arts Initiative is delighted to announce that its $500 2023 Aim scholarship was awarded to Paloma Moon from Douglas High School, for her Scarlett, pen & ink drawing. The award was juried from the "Spring Forward 2023" exhibition with art by 36 students from Carson, Dayton, Douglas, and Pioneer high schools.
Graduating seniors continuing their education in the fall at a college or a technical school qualified for the scholarship. Ms. Moon will attend the University of Nevada, Reno, in the fall. Thank you to our generous donor for supporting these students, their superb work, and CCAI.
"Spring Forward 2023", a Capital City Arts Initiative (CCAI) student show, is in the Community Development Building (the Brick), 108 E Proctor Street, Carson City, now through May 12, 2023. The Brick is open to the public, M-F, 8am - noon, 1-4pm. An exhibition video tour with artists’ interviews will be online soon.
"Spring Forward 2023", includes a variety of art media including ceramics, drawing, painting, and mixed media.
