This time last year, the Class of 2019 was as busy as bees preparing the land behind the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center to build the city’s first bee hotel hoping to attract bees to pollinate The Greenhouse Project plants.

The monthly Downtown Carson City Wine Walk takes place Saturday followed by a performance from Tom Petty and Rod Stewart tribute bands during The Do Drop In’s “A Face in the Crowd” homeless fundraiser at Fuji Park. St. Teresa School will host its 17th annual Crab Feed Fundraiser. Combined with comedy at the Carson Nugget and Brewery Arts Center, the Carson City region is in store for a busy weekend. Lyon County Senior Centers join 'March for Meals' campaign to fight hunger, isolation among aging

Lyon County Senior Centers celebrations will include various activities throughout the month of March.
WNC's National Student Nurses Association hosts spaghetti dinner this Friday

Price of admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Please come hungry! During our family friendly event we will be hosting our silent auction comprised of items donated by many businesses’ in the Northern Nevada area.
We will also be drawing the winner of our annual 50/50 raffle; the winner will receive 50 percent of the proceeds and the winners of the raffles from years past have made anywhere from $600- $1000.

Events include the KTVN Share Your Christmas Food Drive at the Governor's Mansion in Carson City and at Minden's Carson Valley Inn, Homestead Holidays at the Silver Saddle Ranch and more. The Polar Express Train Rides are sold out for the rest of the year, but Santa Train express rides are steaming up at the Nevada State Railroad Museum over the weekend. Read on for details.
Carson City Veterans to hold Spaghetti Feed, Silent Auction on Dec.13
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 11/23/2019 - 3:46pmWestern Nevada Wildcat Veterans are partnering with Wildcat Den Café for a Spaghetti Feed Fundraiser and Silent Auction on Dec. 13 in Carson Nugget Hall.
The cost is $10 per plate and the feed and auction will happen from 3 to 8 p.m.
The majority of donations collected will go toward providing a financial hardship gift for veterans attending WNC. The remaining donation funds will be used to support the club’s future events.

Join Muscle Powered and our Parks and Recreation Department at the Silver Saddle Ranch for a presentation and trash mob. Kids will love the Carnival at Bordewich Elementary School, and it helps raise funds for a local Cub Scout Pack. Mark Twain Elementary is hosting their annual Color Run at Mills Park, just make sure to wear a white shirt.

The Tahoe Mountain Milers host a fun run every year to celebrate. If you can run 3.14 miles in a time closest to 31.4 minutes, the bragging rights, and a delicious pie, will be yours. Spaghetti is on the menu at the Nevada Governor’s Mansion where the Nurses of Western Nevada College are hosting a fundraiser.

Elsewhere, let the arrows fly during the Clearcreek Bowmen’s Holiday with a Hero fundraising 3-D shoot. Enjoy a Small Town Christmas in Dayton this evening. The festivities take place in ‘Our Park,’ at the western edge of town. An ugly sweater contest, hot chocolate, caroling, tree lighting and home-town fun are on the menu. Take a ride with him at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, join him on the ‘Elf Crawl’ from the Capitol to the Carson Mall, or tell him your wish list at Debug Computers. Adults have a hard choice to make: the monthly downtown wine walk and the Holiday with a Hero Pub Crawl both take place today, and I’m not sure I’d recommend attempting both.

In the past, they participated in a scavenger hunt, race car/track building and racing, painting, etc. Team members look forward to the events, which are fun, competitive and educational.

Spaghetti is on the menu at J’s Old Town Bistro in Dayton. You’ll be helping out the Lady Dust Devils Basketball program while enjoying delicious pasta. Join the Carson City Classical Cinema Club for this month’s flick, The Fabulous Dorseys, and make sure you’re there for the trivia portion. Speaking of trivia, Tuesdays are packed with it. Sassafras hosts the Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz and you’ll find DJ Trivia at the Fox Brewpub.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Family on Saliman welcomes you to their annual Craftique Open House. You’ll find the Young at Heart Seniors Club hosting a faire at the Douglas County Community Center. The Carson Nugget’s Sierra Room will be home to several artisans, vendors, and crafters during today’s wine walk. There’s quite a bit more, and plenty that doesn’t involve shopping, so take a look and have a great time.

Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and a raffle drawing at 7 pm. Tickets are $10 per person and are available by contacting: Kevin Burns in the Veterans Resource Center at (775) 445-3302 or Rick Vlach. The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m.
The event will be held at Veterans Memorial Hall located at Second and Curry streets in Carson City.

Plenty of free things to see, hear, and experience await. The annual Spring Earth Spirit Faire lets you celebrate Mother Earth with workshops, holistic practitioners, great vendors, and a raffle. It benefits the Heart to Heart School and Advocates to End Domestic Violence so it’s always worth checking out.
