The Carson Educational Support Association, which consists of Para Professionals, Secretaries, Clinical Aides, Nurses, Custodians, Skilled Maintenance workers, Bus drivers and Attendants, Nutrition workers, Deaf and hard of hearing interpreters, Library Media technicians, and IT workers, would like to thank the following businesses for for sponsoring and donating to our educational support staff banquet.

The Carson Educational Support Association would like to thank the following businesses for sponsoring and donating to our educational support staff banquet. Although the banquet was canceled due to the Covid 19 pandemic, prizes have been given to the CESA members who won Classified of the Year.

Senator Square: First week of school a blast at Carson High School

Carson High School Principal Gavin Ward stood at the north entrance high-fiving students as they entered high school, some of them for the first time. In fact, counselors, teachers, and other administrators stood at each of the school entrances welcoming students to the best high school in the state, hyperbole aside.

St. Jude and Chili's Donate Profits Day

Chili's Bar and Grill is holding an annual Donate Profits Day on Oct. 3 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Nationwide all Chili's will be donating 100 percent of the days profits to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Come in and enjoy a great meal, color a pepper, and know that your contribution in just eating will go to St. Jude.

Chili's School Supply Round Up

Chili's in Carson City is collecting new school supplies to donate to local schools in the area. School supplies are often expensive for teachers to purchase and we want to help. When you bring in new supplies to Chili's, you will receive free chips and salsa or guacamole. Please give the supplies to your server or a manager for the discount. Hurry in for this offer as it only runs until 9/11/18.

Senator Square: Carson High School vs Douglas was a basketball rivalry with a purpose

And the winners are, everyone. The third annual Carson High School vs. Douglas High School Charity Basketball Game lit up CHS Wednesday, Nov. 15 and, as rivalry was put aside, it turned out to be the most successful basketball game fundraiser in CHS history with $10,000 raised for the seven students injured in the Nov. 9 vehicle accident on Kings Canyon Road.

Chili's Carson City among 1,300 restaurants to give Tuesday's entire profits to hurricane relief

Senator Square: There’s always next year

Students competed Feb. 17 at the Thompson Federal Courthouse in Reno, Nevada in the Northern Nevada Regional Mock Trial Competition. All schools were given the same case construct and asked to create their own take on it, presenting it as an attorney and a witness would in a real court case.

Hundreds raised for Carson High's NJROTC Rifle Team

A fundraiser held last week at Chili's Restaurant in South Carson City collected $380 for the Carson High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) Rifle Team in its quest to make the trip to a national championship finals competition next month, said team mom Sierra Asby.
