The Carson Educational Support Association, which consists of Para Professionals, Secretaries, Clinical Aides, Nurses, Custodians, Skilled Maintenance workers, Bus drivers and Attendants, Nutrition workers, Deaf and hard of hearing interpreters, Library Media technicians, and IT workers, would like to thank the following businesses for for sponsoring and donating to our educational support staff banquet.

The Carson Educational Support Association would like to thank the following businesses for sponsoring and donating to our educational support staff banquet. Although the banquet was canceled due to the Covid 19 pandemic, prizes have been given to the CESA members who won Classified of the Year.

Here is a partial list of local restaurants that are offering take out and/or delivery during the COVID-19 shutdown. We will be adding more soon. Carson High School Principal Gavin Ward stood at the north entrance high-fiving students as they entered high school, some of them for the first time. In fact, counselors, teachers, and other administrators stood at each of the school entrances welcoming students to the best high school in the state, hyperbole aside.

We honor those who have served our country today on this Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 12, 2018. Take a moment to thank those who have given in service and sacrifice to our great country, and remember those veterans who are no longer with us. Chili's Bar and Grill is holding an annual Donate Profits Day on Oct. 3 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Nationwide all Chili's will be donating 100 percent of the days profits to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Come in and enjoy a great meal, color a pepper, and know that your contribution in just eating will go to St. Jude.

Chili's in Carson City is collecting new school supplies to donate to local schools in the area. School supplies are often expensive for teachers to purchase and we want to help. When you bring in new supplies to Chili's, you will receive free chips and salsa or guacamole. Please give the supplies to your server or a manager for the discount. Hurry in for this offer as it only runs until 9/11/18.

Carson High Safe Grad Boosters would like to thank the following people for their help in making the 2018 Safe and Sober graduation party one of the best we have had. We could not have done it without their support. Thank you for your generosity!

Chili's Grill & Bar in the Northern Douglas County Walmart shopping center is hosting a fundraiser for the Carson Valley Medical Center Foundation June 14 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Chili's Grill and Bar in Carson City is joining forces with Douglas County Sheriff's Office to raise funds for Special Olympics through Tip-A-Cop on Thursday, May 31.

Not only will we have deputies here to help serve you as you join us for this special event but you will have a chance to meet some of the athlete's themselves.

The CHS NJROTC Orienteering team participated in the California Orienteering Week held March 17-25, and this was the first time CHS has made it this far in competition.

Chili's Bar and Grill in Carson City is hosting a special Mother Son Night Out, Super Hero style! There will be crafts, goodies, a free mini molten and a extra special appearance from DARTH VADER!!! We encourage all the young and young at heart to dress in your favorite Super Hero costume and spend the evening making memories only a Mother and her Son can share! The event will be held from 4:00pm-9:00pm

Chili's Bar and Grill is hosting a early Valentine's Day out for all those special Dad's and their daughters. There will be crafts, dancing, obviously a great meal and a free mini molten to share! The event is Tuesday, Feb. 6 and will run from 5 to 9 p.m. We can't wait to share in the fun on this special day.

And the winners are, everyone. The third annual Carson High School vs. Douglas High School Charity Basketball Game lit up CHS Wednesday, Nov. 15 and, as rivalry was put aside, it turned out to be the most successful basketball game fundraiser in CHS history with $10,000 raised for the seven students injured in the Nov. 9 vehicle accident on Kings Canyon Road.

It’s back to school and back to work, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. Get your kicks on the dance floor in Carson Lanes’ Eleventh Frame Lounge; DJ Bobby will teach you how to line dance. The Classic Cinema Club presents Edmond O'Brien and Pamela Britton in ‘D.O.A.’ Get there at 6:30 p.m. for discussion and film trivia. For the true trivia junkies, the Fox Brewpub hosts DJ Trivia tonight – all ages are welcome and there are prizes at stake. Halloween lovers of all ages will want to participate in the upcoming production of ‘Nightmare before Christmas’ at Piper’s Opera House.

On Tuesday, Sept. 5, Chili's Bar and Grill will donate 100 percent of profits from its restaurants nationwide, including Carson City, to the relief efforts of those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Every year, Ormsby County Education Association and the Carson City School District sponsor “The Light of Education” awards, and this year’s CHS winners are Ann Britt, Johanna Davis, and first year teacher Monica Chavez who said, “I felt very shocked, honored, and blessed about winning the award.”

Special Olympics Nevada raised more than $2,000 during a Tip-A-Cop fundraiser held Thursday at the Chili's restaurant on Topsy Lane in South Carson City, said David Sorensen of Special Olympics Nevada.

The Carson High School winners of the Shark Tank competition are in with amazing new ideas for start-up companies and new inventions of products, not to mention the monetary winnings that allow these aspiring entrepreneur-contestants to take the next step in the process of starting their own businesses or inventing and marketing their new products.

Students competed Feb. 17 at the Thompson Federal Courthouse in Reno, Nevada in the Northern Nevada Regional Mock Trial Competition. All schools were given the same case construct and asked to create their own take on it, presenting it as an attorney and a witness would in a real court case.

Pack 341 is very active Cub Scout pack and part of the Boy Scouts of America. We are a family orientated pack and invite boys to join who are currently in grades Kindergarten through 4th. A fundraiser held last week at Chili's Restaurant in South Carson City collected $380 for the Carson High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) Rifle Team in its quest to make the trip to a national championship finals competition next month, said team mom Sierra Asby.

A fundraiser to help the Carson High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) Rifle Team attend a national invitational next month will be held next Thursday, Jan. 26 at Chili's restaurant off Topsy Lane in South Carson City.

Let Chili's do the cooking while supporting Eagle Valley Middle School at the same time. With each flyer presented on Tuesday, January 17th, Chili's will donate 10% of total sales of the event day sales.
