Updated Nevada Day Parade line up list and map

Note, there was a last-minute change in streets where the entries are supposed to line up that is different than the printed program. The change was made to accommodate some larger floats. The Pavilions are located at the east end of Mills Park, accessible from Saliman Road.
This is an opportunity for you to hear from state and federal candidates, learn about local and state ballot issues and mingle with elected officials.

Autumn Funerals and Cremations is in charge of the final arrangements. Inturnment will be at No NV Veterans Mem Cem, Fernley NV with full military honors on October 02, 2014 at 11:am.

Jason Woodbury, candidate for Carson City District Attorney, has confirmed his attendance and Michael Kelly, candidate for State Senate 16, has also confirmed.
Nicole Willis Grimes of The Ferraro Group will provide us with facts and figures in opposition regarding The Education Initiative (aka margins tax) and a brief explanation on Question 1, the Appellate Court Issue.

Our speaker will be Mr. Ron Norton, President and Development Director for ComputerCorp, a non-profit organization which recruits and trains volunteers, operates a recycling center, and sponsors the grassroots project "Every Home 'A' Classroom".

April 20 at the Carson Nugget. Also speaking will be retired Nevada State Archivist Guy Rocha. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for no-host bar, with dinner served at 6 p.m. Tickets are $45 in advance, or $50 at the door. There will be live and silent auctions, and many raffle prizes as well.
Rally for American workers on Saturday
Submitted by editor on Fri, 02/25/2011 - 1:45amA rally in support of American workers will be held in front of the Legislative Building in Carson City on Saturday, Feb. 26. The event is sponsored by the Carson City Democratic Central Committee and the Nevada Rural Democratic Caucus.
It is part of a nationwide event by Move-On and People for the American Way in an event called "50-State Mobilization to Save the American Dream." Rallies will be held at state legislative buildings across the country.
Letter to the editor: Negative mailers not helpful to campaign

Several negative mailers featuring Assembly candidate Pete Livermore were sent out recently to Carson City homes.
These ads were sponsored by the Nevada State Democratic Party, which hired an outside firm to produce the pieces. They claim Livermore got a "sweetheart deal" from the city when it purchased land he owned in order to widen Clearview Drive.
Patricia Potter, former Carson City educator and chair of the Carson-Tahoe Hospital Board of Trustees, dies
Submitted by editor on Mon, 08/09/2010 - 4:39pmPatricia Potter, former Carson City educator and former chair of the Carson-Tahoe Hospital Board of Trustees, died at her Carson City home at 4:40 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010. She was 80.
"I was saddened to learn of Pat's passing," said U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.
"She was a good teacher and a good friend to many Nevadans," Reid added.
"Pat was a strong advocate for change and fought for a better Nevada as chair of the Carson City Democratic Central Committee. My thoughts go out to Pat's family and friends during this difficult time," Reid stated.
Former Senator, war hero Max Cleland in Carson City on Wednesday

The Carson City Democratic Central Committee invited the former Georgia senator to speak about ongoing policy issues for the November midterm election. He will address the public at 7 p.m. in the AFSCME building at the southwest corner of Robinson and Roop streets in Carson City.
